Strawberry tartar with pistachio nuts

Introduction

I already mentioned several times that a fruit pudding is a regular part in my menus. I prefer them to other puddings for many reasons – they are not only very tasty, quick and easy to prepare, but they are also light and healthy. Here we have local strawberries throughout the whole year, that's why I try to use them in many ways.

Strawberry tartar with pistachio nuts

  • 300 g strawberries
  • 40 g peeled unsalted pistachio nuts
  • 5 – 10 lemon melissa leaves
  • 3 tbsp passion fruit juice (2 tbsp lime juice)
  • 1 - 2 tbsp sugar
  • chop the pistachio nuts and toast them on a dry pan for 1-2 min
  • chop the melissa
  • in a bowl combine the passion fruit juice and the sugar, mix to dissolve
  • cut the strawberries into the small pieces, divide between the serving bowls and pour the juice over the strawberries, stir gently and place to the fridge for 30 min
  • when serving sprinkle with the chopped nuts and melissa
Thoughts and Ideas

Usually I add 1-2 tbsp passion fruit liquor. You can take mint or basil instead of the melissa.
