My recipe
Apple and almond crumble
Introduction
I've already posted many crumble recipes even the savoury ones. Today I would like to share with you one more apple crumble with almonds. I think apples and almonds is a perfect taste marriage.

- 4 medium-sized apples (Granny Smith, Fugi, Royal Gala)
- 150 ml Amaretto liquor
- 80-100 ml fine brown sugar
- 4 tbsp finely chopped almond
- 1 tbsp drawn butter
- peel and cork the apples, cut into the cubes or wedges of 1,5-2 inches
- sprinkle the apples with the half amount of sugar, pour in the liquor, stir and leave in a fridge for a couple of hours
- on a dry pan toast the almonds until nice and golden
- heat the butter in a saucepan, saute the apples for 1 min each side. Add the sugar, stir and cook for 1 more min until sugar starts to caramelize. Add in the liquor and allow to simmer 1 more min
- grease the baking dishes (4-6 individual or 1 bag), sprinkle with the sugar
- arrange the apples, pour over the liquor, scatter the almonds and stir gently
CRUMBLE TOPPING
- 80 g butter, cubed
- 100 g flour
- 50 g ground almond
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- in a food processor combine all the ingredients pulse several times until the mixture resembles the bread crumbs
- scatter the topping over the apples and bake at 200C for 10-13 min until nice and golden
- serve with the vanilla ice-cream
Thoughts and Ideas
If you prefer your apples crunchy, don't saute them at all, soak in liquor and then bake. You can add the dried cherries.
