Chicken drumsticks with sesame seeds

Introduction

The recipe comes from the book „Salt and Pepper“. I have no idea how many times I made those drumsticks, we just adore them.

Chicken drumsticks with sesame seeds

  • 1 kg chicken drumsticks

MARINADE

  • 1/2 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp black pepper corns
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 60 ml sherry dry
  • 125 ml honey
  • 60 ml soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp Vietnamese fish sauce Nuoc-Mam
  • 2 tbsp toasted sesame seeds
  • Slash the chicken drumsticks several times each for even roasting
  • Crush garlic and pepper corns
  • Mix together all of the marinade ingredients and pour over the drumsticks. Leave for 4 hours (better overnight)
  • Preheat the oven to 200C
  • Arrange the chicken pieces onto the roasting tray and place in the oven for 40 min, turning 2-3 times
Thoughts and Ideas

I did not add the sesame seeds to the marinade, but sprinkled the chicken with it before roasting. I took Thai fish sauce as did not have the Vietnamese one at the moment. Could be served cold or warm.
