Won Ton and Dim Sim dough

Dim Sim dough

  • 250 ml water
  • 25 g fresh yeast
  • ~ 600 ml flour
  • dissolve yeast in warm water
  • add flour and make a dough
  • leave to rise
  • roll out the dough thinly
  • cut out the squares (4x4 inch)

Won Ton dough

1 version

  • 1 1/2 cup flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 2 tbsp water
  • combine flour and salt, add water, mixed with the egg
  • make an elastic dough
  • leave in the fridge to rest for 1 hour
  • roll out thinly
  • cut out the squares

2 version

  • 2,5 - 3 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup hot water
  • 1/3 cut cold water
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • Sieve the flour into the bowl and pour the hot water over it
  • Mix very well and add cold water
  • Make a dough, adding oil at the end. The dough should be smooth and elastic
  • Place the dough in the fridge to rest for 1 hour
  • Roll the dough out thinly and cut out the squares (rounds)
Thoughts and Ideas

The Dim Sim dough is quite fluffy as any yeast dough, but this is exactly what you are looking for in this dish.
The last 2 recipes are for Won Ton. The dough is very elastic, easy to work with. I prefer the second version.
